Monterey Bay Aquarium's ARCC project complete

Friday, January 01, 2016

We recently completed an installation at the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s ARCC facility. It includes 10 independent quarantine systems with 44 tanks designed to hold either tropical or temperate (cold water) animals.

We designed and built a project that we are very proud of. It was a real pleasure working with the MBA team!

Installing new private residence aquarium

Friday, December 11, 2015

We've had some people ask how we move these large tanks into private residences. The answer is very carefully! We hire professional rigging companies to use cranes and other equipment to get these delicate pieces of living art into place.

Here is a video of us moving a big tank into a home. To give a sense of scale, the tank is 50 feet in the air at the top of its travel.

Boston Museum of Science Exhibits Progressing

Friday, January 30, 2015

The Tenji team has been hard at work designing a series of exhibits for the Boston Museum of Science's new gallery about the Charles River. For the last few months, we have been working with the wonderful team at the Museum of Science and we are moving out of the stage of everything being on paper and into the real world with models and fabricated pieces.

We'll share more photos of the other exhibits as they are completed.

Teach your children well: High School job shadow

Friday, November 07, 2014

We enjoyed having Caleb Mullen, a senior at Lincoln Academy, job shadow at our east coast office in Damariscotta, Maine, this past week. He was a huge help in taking underwater video from a dock in South Bristol for a project we are doing for a new laboratory in Connecticut (see video below). We also worked on making a Carlson surge device.

Tenji beleives strongly in education and training the next generation of aquarium designers.

Thanks, Caleb!
