Cabela's, a retail and mail order business selling hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, began in 1961 and is now a $4.7 billion market-cap company, with 44 stores and plans to open an additional 16 stores over the next two years. With the more than 100 catalogs the company publishes each year, Cabela's has a wide reach in North American retail markets, and is now considered a leader in the industry. Its new retail initiative "Cabela's Outpost Stores" will, according to the company's website, "introduce the unique Cabela's retail experience to customers in underserved markets across the United States and Canada."
Tenji constructed a custom 6,000 gallon waterfall exhibit, a quarantine system, and a bait holding system for this store which opened March 2013. As the company website says, "In addition to offering quality outdoor merchandise, the 80,000 sq. ft. showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction, featuring a décor of museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats."
