The Sitka Sound Science Center is dedicated to increasing understanding and awareness of the Gulf of Alaska ecosystem through education and research. Tenji helped remodel the 1929 building so as to retain the building’s character, and yet improve the aquarium exhibits. Together with artist Ray Troll, Tenji’s design breathed new life into the historic building. The team designed, delivered, and installed a salmon display with a pop-up dome for interactivity and a crashing waterfall that adds sound and motion. "Salmon Journey" features the first and last stages of the life cycle from juvenile (live) to spawned out dead (model).
