Cabela's, a retail and mail order business selling hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, began in 1961 and is now a $4.7 billion market-cap company, with 44 stores and plans to open an additional 16 stores over the next two years. With the more than 100 catalogs the company publishes each year, Cabela's has a wide reach in North American retail markets, and is now considered a leader in the industry. Its new retail initiative "Cabela's Outpost Stores" will, according to the company's website, "introduce the unique Cabela's retail experience to customers in underserved markets across the United States and Canada."
Tenji constructed a custom 6,000 gallon waterfall exhibit, a quarantine system, and a bait holding system at the Thornton, Colorado store. The store is a 90,000-square feet and celebrated its official grand opening summer 2013. The store's interior is built in Cabela's next-generation format designed to surround customers in the outdoor experience.
