The forefront of innovation
The Tenji team prides ourselves on constantly pushing the envelope on what is possible in aquariums. Two of our recent projects had us designing and building wave crash tanks, one at the Tennessee Aquarium and another at the Cabrillo High School Aquarium.
These tanks are unique due to their quiet pumps and controllable intensities of the crashes. The waves are fully customizable, including size and frequency. Both tanks use a caisson vacuum integral to the tank, in place of a traditional dump tank. The Tennessee Aquarium has its hold tank in a separate room, while the Cabrillo High School is a self-contained system, with its hold tank located in the blue tower next to the display tank. The Cabrillo tank was designed and built completely in-house at the Tenji shop.
